Do You Love Serving Your Customers?

Encourager-In-Chief: September 29th, 2021

Can they tell?

When it comes to evaluating legendary customer service, one of the factors that people notice most is sincerity. We’ve all had people who have just gone through the motions to appease us. But when we are talking about “wowing” our customers, we just can’t phone that in.

Some people are born with a natural love of serving others. If you are one of them, it will make your job much easier. But let’s just say that it’s something you have to work at. Don’t worry… there’s hope for you yet. The first key is to be present. This means that you are not allowing your mind to wander off in 10 different directions when a customer needs your attention. Be fully engaged and make sure that the customer can feel it.

Second, your listening skills need to be top-notch. Pay careful attention to what your customers are saying and, even better, write down notes in front of him or her to show that you are sincerely interested in what he or she has to say.

Third, check on your attitude. A customer might be saying something unpleasant to you, but it doesn’t mean that you have to appear unpleasant to your customer. Make every effort to look and sound pleasant, open, and eager to find out what your customer wants and give it to him or her.

While you might occasionally come across a customer who just wants to be combative, most customers want to have a positive and pleasant experience when they buy. Remember, you can’t fake this without your customers knowing it. So, be real and genuine. The more joy you show when serving your customers, the more positive responses you will get from them.

Let me hear from you.

When you’re busy, avoid taking the quickest action. Instead, make the extra effort to truly serve the customer.
