Connect The Dots

We are all connected!

Many people struggle to get business from their networking efforts. If you are one of them, it means you need to adjust your techniques. You need to realize we are all connected. You just need to learn how to connect the dots.

During a two-day period, while I was filming the first season episodes of my television series Focused on Success with Dave Romeo, I observed the following connections:

Four of the guests on the show were clients of Stages Planning Group, LLC, where we were filming the episodes.

One guest waited around after his taping to see the next guest, who was one of his clients. Meanwhile, the first guest was in business with the nephew of one of the camerawomen. It turns out I also knew her nephew because he had sold me some tropical fish.

The last guest knew the cinematographer because they had done a runway fundraising project together.

As it turned out, all guests knew each other to some degree or another. In fact, many of them either had done business with each other in the past and/or were currently doing business with one another.

My point is, once you learn to connect the dots with the people you know, you’ll discover that you have much more in common than you realize. You make your own success. And here’s another observation: More than half of the time when I make a referral to someone, that person already knows the person I am referring. It’s just that he or she never connected the dots.

Don’t take great people for granted. There are many opportunities for the people you know to make money if you will just take the time to introduce them to the other people you know and show them what they have in common.
